Conservative Vein Disease Treatments

We believe in conservative vein disease treatments and treating vein disorders in the least invasive way possible. In many situations, procedures like Endovenous Laser Treatment are necessary to treat more serious vein issues. However, some venous diseases can be treated with simple changes in behavior. The following interventions have been found to have potential benefits.

  • Exercising
  • Maintaining a proper weight
  • Periodically elevating your legs
  • Moving your legs frequently
  • Compression therapy – We carry a full line of compression wear
  • Dietary supplements
  • Massage therapy

Conservative vein disease treatments are a highly effective way to prevent the development of more varicose or spider veins, as well as to significantly reduce painful symptoms. Our experience with these measures reveals that compression therapy and exercise work best, as both help to regulate blood flow and prevent pooling. Compression therapy reduces diameter of veins, thereby increasing the speed of flow of blood back towards the heart and decreasing the chance of a blood clot forming.

Regular exercise will also reduce symptoms, particularly in the legs. Aerobic activity like walking, running, swimming, or biking for 30 minutes at least 5 days a week will strengthen the calf muscle pump, allowing the vein valves to function more effectively and promoting greater blood return back toward the heart.

We are dedicated to finding treatment options that are successful and convenient for your lifestyle. We offer personalized treatment plans and remain available throughout your recovery process.
